YCIS Chongqing recently had the honor of hosting an exceptional guest to ignite the passion for reading and writing among its students. Renowned hip-hop poet, Kimba Bush, captivated the Early Childhood Education (ECE) and Primary students during his visit.

Kimba Bush took center stage in the Great Hall, where he mesmerized the students with his powerful performance. Through his captivating poems and raps, he engaged the students, encouraging their active participation. One of the highlights was Kimba's revelation that the secret ingredient to a good poem is embodied in the acronym SHAMPOO.

O – Oxymoron

This creative acronym sparked curiosity among the children and left a lasting impression. Teachers also embraced the concept and plan to incorporate it into their future poetry lessons.

Kimba Bush's visit extended beyond the Great Hall as he visited all of the Primary Learning Communities. During these sessions, he inspired the children to write their own poems, fostering their creativity and self-expression. The students were given the opportunity to share their unique creations with the entire primary community.
