The Mid-Autumn Festival is a very popular event in our school calendar and is something that our students look forward to. At YCIS Chongqing, we celebrate this wonderful festival each year, embracing its tradition and for many, developing cultural awareness.
On Tuesday 22nd September, our school cafeteria staff prepared handmade mooncakes for students and teachers to enjoy, reminding everyone that the Mid-Autumn Festival is around the corner. When our chef arrived with trays full of delicious mooncakes, the students couldn’t wait to taste them!
After eating their Mooncake, the Year 1 Learning Community were inspired to design their own version of a YCIS Mooncake! The following day, students gathered in the cafeteria and turned their design into reality, making a Mooncake for themselves… “Press the dough” “Put the fillings on the skin and wrap” “Rub into a ball”… all of our students had great fun and made their own mooncake!
As the traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, we wish you and your family a happy and safe holiday!
