The 2024 SCISAC Volleyball Tournament has concluded with resounding success, leaving the Yew Chung International School of Chongqing community brimming with pride over our teams' achievements. Despite falling short of reaching the finals, both our boys and girls teams displayed remarkable improvement, matching the skill level of competing schools such as Hong Kong Academy, The International School of Macau, Xiamen International School, and the host Nanjing International School. What truly sets our teams apart, however, is their exemplary sportsmanship, earning them the esteemed title of "Most Sporting Team." This recognition speaks volumes about our athletes' commitment to fair play and respect on and off the court.
In addition to team accolades, individual players stood out for their outstanding contributions. Jeff Ang and Elsa Zong were awarded the prestigious "Play Hard, Play Fair" medal for their exceptional leadership and technical prowess throughout the tournament. Their dedication and sportsmanship serve as shining examples for their peers and future generations of YCIS Chongqing athletes.
While the journey may have ended on the volleyball court, the lessons learned, and bonds forged during this tournament will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on our school community. Congratulations to all our athletes for their hard work, determination, and unwavering spirit of sportsmanship.
