YCIS Chongqing concluded its highly anticipated Book Week today, and it was truly a celebration of the written word. From the 4th to the 8th of March, our campus was filled with excitement, creativity, and a shared passion for literature. Let's take a moment to review the highlights of this enchanting event and relive the magic!
Immersive Activities
ECE and Primary students delighted in activities such as teachers performing excerpts from their favorite books, buddy reading, participating in book swaps, and parading as beloved book characters. Meanwhile, Secondary students embraced the power of Shakespeare and classic Chinese proverbs, exploring the beauty of eastern and western culture and language through engaging group activities.
The Book Fair was a central attraction, offering students a chance to explore a diverse selection of books, dedicated reading periods known as D.E.A.R (Drop Everything and Read) encouraged independent reading for pleasure, fostering lifelong reading habits.
Parent Involvement
Parents played a vital role in making Book Week a resounding success. They actively participated in the parent reading session, sharing their love for reading with their children. Furthermore, parents were captivated by the Creative Response to Reading Exhibition, an impressive showcase of the imaginative and artistic talents of students from all year levels.
