On November 25th, YCIS Chongqing Secondary embarked on an exciting Science Week. From Year 7 to Year 13, students engaged in daily activities showcasing their year-long accomplishments. Mornings commenced with themed form time activities, followed by captivating tasks, presentations, and exhibitions along the level 5 corridor.
Year 7 kickstarted the week with Geology projects and a gemstone mining presentation, exploring the Earth's rock cycle. Year 8 delved into fossil excavation, while students from all grades shared nature-inspired photos and collaborated on an environmental street-art mural.
Teachers enriched the experience with STEM activities and artwork, creating a gallery reflecting YCIS's unique perspective on technology and the natural world. The week culminated in a special assembly on December 5th, honoring the 'Science Stars of 2024 – 2025' for their exceptional work and learner behaviors. Gratitude was extended to the Science Team, Mr. Moffitt, and Mr. Pitchforth for their invaluable support in organizing this enriching event."
