The word "science" probably brings to mind many different pictures: a fat textbook, white lab coats, microscopes, an astronomer peering through a telescope, a biologist in the rainforest, Einstein's equations scribbled on a chalkboard, the launch of the space shuttle, etc. All of those images reflect the versatility of science. Science not only brings excitement to life, but also gives meaning to the world around us

In school, science is a process of discovery that allows us to link isolated facts into coherent and comprehensive understandings of the natural world. At YCIS, our teachers give their best efforts in helping students engage in practical activities and become embedded in a process of inquiry. We permanently encourage our students to practice hands-on skills inside and outside their classrooms through various laboratory investigations.

Recently, secondary students have been actively involved in conducting research for our upcoming Science Fair. Students have been advancing their knowledge in an area of science that is of interest to the them, by designing experiments and conducting their own research. The diversity of projects to be exhibited at this year's fair demonstrates the diversity of scientific interests of the students at YCIS Chongqing. Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Physics will each be represented during Science Fair 2018.

We invite you to bring your ideas, interest and an inquisitive mind when attending our annual Science Fair, March 30^th, 1:50 to 3:30 pm, in the school’s Great Hall, to celebrate the creativity and effort of our students over the past few months.
