    • To kick off the holidays this year, the YCIS Chongqing Noteworthy Singers Children’s Choir and Community Choir sung at the Westin Hotel’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 24. There was a gigantic Christmas tree, tasty appetizers, Santa Claus, and more than 200 people enjoying our talented singers!

The Noteworthy Singers is a children’s choir that gets together every Wednesday after school as an Extra-Curricular Program. The group consists of 22 students ranging from Year 3 to Year 7. The students have been working on a variety of songs, including a couple of Christmas pieces. It wasn’t all children singing, but adults too! The YCIS Chongqing Community Choir consists of parents, staff, and people from the community who want to sing! The rich, older voices and thick harmonies gave a nice balance to the light and higher sounds the children’s choir provided.

Overall, it was a successful event that spread some holiday cheer, the good reputation that YCIS already has, and gave many children (and adults) the opportunity to perform in front of a large crowd. This might be the first time you’ve heard of the Noteworthy singers, but it won’t be the last!
