In order to prepare and support our students for their pathways into the IGCSE and IB programmes of study and guide them in the right direction for their future career aspirations, we held an options afternoon on Wednesday 24^th February in the Great Hall. Due to the current restrictions, this event was only for students; we would usually invite parents, instead we have shared the relevant information via the students through our curriculum booklets and other information. It was great to see all our Year 9 and Year 11 students attend this event.

This type of event is a great opportunity for our students to ask questions and discuss subject options as this will enable them to make the most appropriate subject choices for their future. All of the subject teachers were available at the event, share their expert knowledge and advice on the ‘right option’. A short presentation was also held with general information on the IGCSE programme and the IBDP being shared. For parents, these presentations have been made available electronically.

During the event, students were also issued with a curriculum booklet which details all of the information about the courses on offer at YCIS Chongqing for next academic year. We advise all students to take some time to think carefully about the right subjects for them and discuss this with their families before submitting a ‘final’ options form by 5^th March.
