In the Year 2 Learning Community, students are approaching the end of the first topic study: Our School Community.

Over the past two months, we have explored the people that make up our school community. We first thought about ourselves, our likes, our dislikes, what we can do and what we can’t do YET!

We also found out about the other important people in our school community: the ayis, the teachers, parents, principals, school office staff, the school nurse, the security guards and older students. We thought of questions and interviewed different people to help us understand the importance of everyone as part of our school community.

We also explored the themes of good manners and respect and how we could share those messages around school.

Held on Friday, October 18 2018, our assembly was, followed by a celebration of learning with the parents was a great way to end the ‘Our School Community’ topic. We look forward to the exploration of community continuing to be central to all of the teaching and learning in the Year 2 Learning Community!
