The Chongqing 2023 SCISAC (Southern China International Schools Athletic Conference) Basketball tournament recently concluded with an exhilarating display of talent, sportsmanship, and athleticism. The event, hosted by Yew Chung International School of Chongqing, showcased the skills of six boys' teams (NIS, XIS-A, XIS-B, TIS, ICA, and YCIS-CQ ), and five girls' teams (NIS, XIS-A, XIS-B, TIS, and YCIS-CQ).

The tournament was a testament to the incredible teamwork, and sportsmanship displayed by the athletes from both teams of boys and girls representing Yew Chung International School of Chongqing. These remarkable student-athletes demonstrated unwavering commitment and dedication, putting their hearts into every game, and giving it their all. Their exceptional display of solidarity and gamesmanship served as an inspiration to all, fostering a sense of camaraderie and fair play throughout the tournament. YCIS-CQ's athletes truly embodied the spirit of the game, leaving a lasting impression on both their opponents and spectators alike.

Moving on to the results, in the boys' division, ICA Taiwan emerged as the champions, displaying exceptional teamwork and skill throughout the tournament. XIS-A Xiamen secured the second-place position, while our boys from YCIS-CQ claimed the third-place spot. The boys' play hard play fair award went to Zack Wong, who exemplified outstanding sportsmanship on the court.

The girls' division witnessed an impressive performance by TIS Macau, who clinched the first-place title with their remarkable display of talent. XIS-A Xiamen secured the second-place position once again, while NIS Nanjing claimed the third-place spot. Winnie Xiao was awarded the play hard play fair award for her exceptional sportsmanship.

Furthermore, our competitors at YCIS-CQ girls' team received the prestigious Most Sporting Team award, despite finishing in fourth place. This recognition highlights their exemplary athleticism and fair play throughout the tournament.

The games were filled with intense competition and closely contested matchups, with several games being decided by narrow point margins. The tournament showcased the dedication, skill, and passion of all the participating teams.
