There was simply no better way to draw this year to a close than by celebrating and saying farewell to the outstanding graduates of the class of 2023. On June 29th, the Secondary school students and staff, along with school leadership, friends and families of the graduates, witnessed the conferral of diplomas to the young men and women becoming our latest graduates from YCIS Chongqing. In addition, the ceremony was livestreamed so those close to our graduates’ hearts but physically far away could also share in this moment.

The ceremony celebrated the immense and diverse accomplishments of the class of 2023, while also providing personal and touching insight to their character and values, both as a collective and as individuals. Each graduate was bestowed their diploma while the audience heard about their plans at a range of top-flight universities, and beyond into the future where we are certain the class of 2023 will continue to make a lasting and positive impact on their communities, as they have done throughout their time at YCIS Chongqing.

The ceremony was brought to a close with the class of 2023’s graduation performance. This was a beautiful vocal rendition of ‘A Million Dreams’, which encapsulated so much about these fine graduates – their musical talent, their diligence and collaboration, their confidence as performers, and their bright outlook for the future.

We thank all the staff at YCIS Chongqing, especially the IB Diploma teaching team, for their role in nurturing the development of our class of 2023. We thank the families of our graduates for their unwavering support of their children.

We wish the class of 2023 every success – we may not know what lies in store, but we do know that they possess all the attributes and ethics to go forth and achieve their dreams.
