To wrap up the end of the first semester and to celebrate the holiday season, the YCIS Secondary Department hosted a “Holiday Spectacular!” in the afternoon on December 21.
The show started off with a rousing rendition of Sing We Now of Christmas sung by all secondary music students. Other performances included Christmas classics, and even some original works of students. Years 8 and 9 were lucky to have the orchestra accompany them as they sang, and Year 7 sang a piece they wrote themselves! Year 10 also wowed the audience with their own arrangement of Feliz Navidad.
After a brief intermission with snacks and hot cocoa, the fun continued with a talent show. The show featured piano players, jugglers, dancers, a rock band, and more. Even Mr. Noblett and Mr. Kwakkel decided to serenade students. The concert was over by 3:30pm just in time for students to catch their busses, with their bellies full of Christmas snacks and festive tunes on repeat in their heads.
