Check out Chongqing is now regarded as one of the most essential community events in recent years. On a hot and sunny day, Saturday 16th September, YCIS Chongqing and the school’s Parent Organisation hosted the 2nd annual Check out Chongqing event for the school, and wider Chongqing community.

The event was designed as an information showcase for all things lifestyle in Chongqing, hosting more than 50 vendors from all aspects of life in this vibrant city. From language schools, to horse riding lessons; from restaurants to hairdressers; from law firms to travel agents; from dentists to art schools and sports activities for kids - we had the information you need to enjoy life in Chongqing.

It was a wonderful family event, with a variety activities for the kids including a bouncy castle, toffee artist and face painting, as well as sensational food from our restaurant vendors. We held a raffle (with prizes donated from our wonderful vendors) and a used goods sale which combined raised over 3,000RMB for Seeds of Hope, the YCIS foundation's charity arm.

Check out Chongqing has been very well received by the school community and the feedback from our vendors has been highly positive, it has become an annual event people expect to see on our calendar. We look forward to another successful one next year!
