    • Yew Chung Early Childhood Education (ECE) programme takes place in a nurturing environment that enables children to exercise initiative, make decisions and construct a hands-on understanding of the world.


      These include the realms of academic knowledge and skills development such as early literacy, mathematical and scientific concepts. Instead of teacher-lead activities, our ECE children see themselves as readers, designers, athletes, and even presenters who are the main players of each class activities under the guidance of the teachers. Look at how our ECE kids enjoy their learning through play!


      Play 1 - Personal, Social and Emotional Development


      Demonstrating friendly behaviour while attempt different class activities, initiate conversations and form good relationships with peers and familiar adults.


      Play 2 - Physical Development


      Rolling on the wedge mats and devising a hoop jumping game, children experiment with different ways of moving, negotiating space successfully when playing racing and chasing games with other children, adjusting speed or changing direction to avoid obstacles


      Play 3 - Communication and Language – English and Chinese


      Identifying different flags and developing more complex sentences to link thoughts (e.g. using and, because), and using vocabulary focused on objects and people during their completion of a puzzle project


      Play 4 – Literacy Reading and Writing


      Playing word matching games and writing their own alliteration sheet to learn and say the initial sound in words and be aware of rhyme and alliteration


      Play 5 - Mathematical Development


      Measuring the distance between countries on a map and by playing a beanbag shape game, kids build up their number sense, understand shape and space


      Play 6 - Understanding of the World


      Find their home countries on a world map by identifying the countries’ flags; discuss the aspects of their familiar world such as the place where they live


      Play 7 - Creative Development


      Designing and constructing the balloon cars to represent their own ideas, thoughts and feelings through design and technology


      Focusing on educating competent learners for the future global world, YCIS have been continuingly researching and developing different tools and methods to encourage students’ learning. We work very hard to create joyful and interactive activities, facilitating an enabling environment to ensure that each young learner’s unique interests and curiosities are accommodated. We are proud of our students’ every step of progress in campus as well as their development as a whole person in the society. We look forward to learning their greater achievements in future school years!
