Gyubi has been learning Chinese for five years since arriving in China during 2018. Due to the language and cultural differences, Gyubi has had to overcome a number of challenges, but is now demonstrating fluent speaking skills which allowed her to win this Chinese writing award, Gyubi has proved effort and faith are the keys to success, that’s why she titled her article as ‘the Power of Faith’ (《信念的力量》).
"I was not used to living in China at first, thanks to my teacher, friends and parents, their help supported me to overcome some difficulties.” said Gyubi.
It was the courage and effort that made up her faith, she wrote the article to record this journey.
This is a fantastic honour to recieve professional recognition for her Chinese writing ability! Congratulations Gyubi, we are very proud of you! We would also like to thank the Secondary Chinese Department for supporting Gyubi and the rest of our students!
