After studying the topic of ‘Globalization and the rise of Multinational Companies’ for a few weeks, the Year 10 Business Studies students recently completed their Import Fair.

From the project beginning, students were asked to bring in a prototype that they would like to see imported into China. The only criteria was that ‘it doesn’t already exist in the Chinese market”. This required students to do quite a lot research of the product they choose in order to promote the product as well as to convince the customers.

There was then a mini Import Fair carried out during lesson time, in which products were displayed in detail such as price, features, and market competitiveness. A quick presentation by each student was given, followed by a time for questions. There were a range of good ideas presented by the students, reflecting their creativities and knowledge learned.

In the end, students were given the chance to vote for each other’s ideas, and together with those cast by a few invited staff members, a winner was then determined.
