After a long period of examinations that lasted from the start of April, until the middle of June 2019, Tuesday 13 August was the date that we had all been waiting for…IGCSE Results Day!

The IGCSE Class of 2019 achieved 99.7% of all grades at A*-G, 36.4% grades A or A*, and 79.2% at A*-C. By comparison, GCSE grades in the UK showed an overall A*-G (equivalent) pass rate of 67.3%, and 20.8% A or A* (equivalent). This means that for the second consecutive year, YCIS Chongqing students have significantly outperformed their peers in the UK.

It is worth putting on note that the Class of 2019’s outcomes showed a strong 3-year trend of IGCSE results for YCIS Chongqing. In particular, our students achieved 14% more A*-A grades, and 18% more A*-B grades as compared to our results of June 2018.

We would like to congratulate our Chinese department, who supported students to achieve 94% A*-A (88% in 2018).

The majority of the IGCSE Class of 2019 have already started the next step of their educational journey by staying with us to embark on the IB Diploma Programme. They are beginning to rise to the challenge of this widely recognized international qualification.

Following our inaugural IB results in July 2019, we start the 2019-2020 Academic Year in a strengthened position and look forward to sharing the continued success of our students!
