  • End of Year Message from the School Leadership Team

    We can’t believe the end of the academic year has come around so quickly, but here we are, the end of another year. To those families who are moving on, we thank you for your support and we wish you and your children well. To those families who are remaining with us, we appreciate your trust in our school and its teachers, we have had some success this year, but there is more to come, not only from the new building, but developing opportunities for more communication, along with a continued ‘raising of the bar’ in both our standards and expectations.

  • Awards, awards, awards

    After the virtual awards of last year, we were able to take one more step back to normality this year by hosting our Primary & Secondary awards in front of an actual audience. The children themselves were the audience and they had the opportunity to recognise and celebrate the successes of themselves and their peers.

Excitement that they had reached such a milestone, pride that they were soon to be one of the ‘big kids’ and, of course, nervousness that the next stage of school would be different to what they were used to!

  • Creative Writing Competition

    Recently, Yew Chung and Yew Wah students were invited to take part in a Creative Writing Competition. The competition was created and sponsored by the Yew Chung Education Foundation Curriculum and Professional Development Division in Hong Kong. This year, over 1300 students from across our foundation of schools took part. Twelve teachers from within those schools volunteered to judge the quality of the writing. On the announcement of the results, there were 49 honorable mentions and 5 winners across the four age groups. We are proud to share that 3 YCIS Chongqing students were among the honorable mention winners, these were Ryan Chen, Ruby Rao, Year 9 and Matthew Leano, Year 12.

  • Twinkle, twinkle, little stars!

    It has taken a while, but finally our Primary students were able to take to the stage and perform in a musical concert. The audience were a little younger than expected as parents were unfortunately replaced by some of our lower Secondary students.
